State aid to apartment building managers for gas prices

In the wake of the energy crisis in the country, the government has decided to compensate for the increase in the price of natural gas to the citizens. State aid can also be granted to the owner or manager of an apartment building if natural gas is used by households.

Who is entitled for a fee reduction?

Fee reduction for natural gas consumed applies

  • to household users and
  • to users whose gasified object is an apartment building if **the average monthly consumption over a 12-month period is more than 221 kWh/month** (21 m3 a month).

The discount does not apply if the full price for natural gas is below EUR 0,0340 per kWh excluding VAT.

Compensation will be applied for the period from January to the end of April 2022.

What is the amount of fee reduction?

  • EUR 0,03045 per kWh excluding VAT, if the monthly consumption of natural gas in the gasified object is from 221 kWh (21 m3) to 5269 kWh (500 m3) (inclusive);
  • EUR 0,02279 per kWh excluding VAT, if the monthly consumption of natural gas in the gasified object exceeds 5269 kWh (500 m3).

How to apply for state aid?

Household customers do not need to apply for state aid – it is granted automatically.

In order for natural gas users whose gasified object is an apartment building to receive the aid, the contractor (the manager or owner of the building, not the resident of each apartment) must apply to the natural gas trader for a fee reduction no later than the last day of the month from which the fee reduction is applicable and provide proof of the number of households in apartment building and their consumption.

Please send your electronically signed applications to your Corporate Account Manager by email.

How is the fee reduction reflected in the bill?

The fee reduction must be reflected in the user's monthly bill.

The full price for natural gas (excluding VAT) is indicated on one billing line. On a separate billing line it is then indicated that a state funded fee reduction is granted for the period in question, with the specific amount of the discount (excluding VAT). The total amount of the bill is the full price for natural gas minus the fee reduction. VAT is applied to the total amount of the bill.

The fee reduction does not affect the fees for system services and other obligatory payments set out in the regulatory enactments.
