Increased state support for electricity users

To mitigate the impact of electricity price hikes, the state has increased the support mechanisms for all Latvian electricity users.

Following the current changes, no charges will apply to electricity users for mandatory procurement components (OIK) and electricity distribution system services received in the period from 1 January to 30 April 2022. The costs of distribution system services and OIK are reimbursed from the state budget. This compensation will be available when you receive the bill in February for electricity used in January.

Enefit electricity bills for the relevant period will include both the charges for distribution system services and OIK, as well as a 100% discount on these components (the corresponding amount with a minus sign). No further action is required to qualify for this support.
